Homecooked.

Homecooked is a pantry-first cooking app. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it lives, and the control you have over it. It applies to the Homecooked iOS app and the Homecooked web app.

What we collect

Account — your email address (and, if you sign in with Apple or Google, the identifier they return). Used only to create and secure your account.
Your kitchen data — the ingredients and equipment in your pantry, your meal plans, your shopping checklist, and your cook history (which recipes you cooked and when).
Cook photos — if you choose to add a photo when you finish cooking, that image is stored with your cook history. Adding a photo is always optional.
Sous Chef messages — if you use the AI Sous Chef, the message you send (and any photo you attach) plus relevant context from your pantry and plan are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply (see “AI features” below).

We do not collect your contacts, precise location, or advertising identifiers, and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Where your data is stored

Your account and kitchen data are stored in our backend (Supabase), protected by row-level security so each account can only read and write its own data. Cook photos are stored in our backend’s file storage under a folder scoped to your account.

AI features (Sous Chef)

The Sous Chef is powered by Anthropic’s Claude API. When you send a Sous Chef message, the text (and any photo you attach) and relevant kitchen context are transmitted to Anthropic to generate the response. Your message is processed to answer you; it is not used to train models. You are told this before your first Sous Chef use and can choose not to use the feature.

How we use your data

To run the app’s features — show what you can cook, sync your pantry and plans across your devices, and keep your cook history.
To generate Sous Chef replies when you use that feature.
To keep your account secure.

We do not sell your personal data.

Deleting your account and data

You can permanently delete your account from inside the app (Settings → Delete account). This removes your account and all associated data — pantry, meal plans, shopping list, cook history, and cook photos. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.

Children

Homecooked is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
