Ingredients

  • 200 g Konjac rice
  • 120 g Mackerel (tinned)
  • 80 g Avocado
  • 2 tsp Toasted sesame oil
  • 60 g Daikon radish (optional)
  • 8 g Ginger (optional)
  • 2 tsp Soy sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp Rice vinegar (optional)
  • 2 g Nori sheets (optional)
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds (optional)

Method

  1. Drain the konjac rice and rinse it thoroughly under cold running water, then dry-fry it in a hot pan for 3 minutes, shaking often, until the water has driven off and the grains squeak against the pan.
  2. While the konjac dries out: grate the daikon coarsely and press out the excess water, grate the ginger, and slice the avocado.
  3. Drain the mackerel and stir the soy sauce, rice vinegar and grated ginger together into a dressing.
  4. Spread the hot konjac rice in a bowl and trickle the sesame oil over it. Break the mackerel across the top in big pieces, add the avocado and the pressed daikon, and spoon the ginger dressing over everything. Finish with torn nori and sesame seeds.
