Ingredients

  • 200 g Brown rice
  • 200 g Soybeans
  • 100 g Burdock root
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 tbsp Japanese soy sauce (koikuchi shoyu)
  • 1 Kombu (dried kelp) (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds (optional)

Method

  1. Soak the rice and soybeans for an hour, then drain.
  2. Julienne the burdock and carrot and rinse the burdock in water.
  3. Steam the rice, soybeans, burdock, and carrot with the kombu, soy, and water until tender, 35 minutes.
  4. Fluff, scatter with sesame, and serve.
